Blue Sky Alliance offers a new aftermarket support as a recommended solutions supplier for Airbus Spares Support & Services. All Consumable materials, Expendables and Standard Hardware (CES) materials can be handled through a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for aftermarket spares.

Blue Sky Alliance (BSA) is the name of the new service company founded as a Joint Venture of the three leading companies Avio-Diepen (Netherlands), Interturbine Logistik (Germany) and Satair (Denmark). The announcement was made by Vincent van Campen, president of Avio-Diepen, Burckhard Schneider, President of Interturbine and John Staer, CEO of Satair, at a press conference together with Airbus in Farnborough on 15th July.

The three presidents did not only disclose the name of the new service company but also endorsed the strategic partnership with the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The service will be available from October 2008 onwards. The services offered by Blue Sky Alliance will be based on individual contracts.

For customers entering agreements with Blue Sky Alliance, an always bid guarantee, a 24/7 single point of contact, on-line access and state-of-the-art electronic ordering, fixed lead times combined with fixed competitive prices based on high purchasing volumes and substantially reduced administrative workload will be offered.

"Based on a fixed contract for defined material, neither a further price sourcing becomes necessary nor has the schedule for delivery to be sorted out. Everything is laid down in a contract and the customer can concentrate on his core business", the President of Interturbine Logistik, Burckhard Schneider comments.

"Blue Sky Alliance will stand for high quality service, low costs and efficient cooperation with the cooperation partner Airbus", said Avio-Diepen President Vincent van Campen. "And this will mean huge benefits for the customer. With our service we can supply the requested parts from a network of 3000 key suppliers through 19 warehouses of all partners within the shortest possible time".

Blue Sky Alliance will ensure their regional presence in all world regions, holding an inventory of more than 200 million USD.

"The customer benefits from the strong experience of the three joint venture partners and the strategic alliance with Airbus directly. By using the Blue Sky Alliance as a Single Point Of Contact for their inquiries for consumable materials, expendables and standard hardware, the customers will reduce their administration costs for purchasing significantly", Steen Bruhn, Satair Vice President Customer Support & Services added.

Headquartered in Germany near Hamburg, Blue Sky Alliance has opened their Customer Support in-house office at Airbus Material, Logistics and Suppliers headquarters close to Hamburg Airport. Roland Voss has been appointed as General Manager of Blue Sky Alliance. He will be in charge of the joint venture, being responsible for the customer relationships and commercial aspects of the business.

All partners have a similar stake in the new company. The name Blue Sky Alliance was chosen as it symbolises the worldwide service capability of the three well established partners, who are global leading distributors for CES materials with a high reputation in the market.
